About DTEK Renewables

DTEK Renewables is a leader in the renewable energy market in Ukraine. Part of the DTEK Group, the company is focused on establishing and managing renewable energy projects.

Since 2008, it has built 1.1 GW of solar and wind power generation in the country, investing more than €1.2 billion in developing with the construction, management, and operation of renewable energy facilities. The team behind the company is the key to its success, working every day to make strong progress even amid a full-scale war.

Business Direction

DTEK Renewables focuses on the development and direction of wind and solar power plants. It works together with leading manufacturers across the world, including:

  • Vestas;
  • GE;
  • Siemens;
  • Trina Solar;
  • Seraphim;
  • ABB;
  • KSTAR.

It is already developing a €450 million expansion of its Tyligulska Wind Power Plant, purchasing 64 wind turbines from Vestas, the world’s leading turbines manufacturer. The expanded wind farm will become the largest in Ukraine, with an installed capacity of 500 MW, able to power 900,000 Ukrainian homes.

Additionally, DTEK Renewables specialists are planning to construct a wind power plant with a project capacity of 650 MW located in the Hlobyne town region, bringing green energy to the community. These and many other progressive projects play a crucial role in Ukraine's transition to a clean and secure energy system.

Sustainability

DTEK Renewables aims to drive green energy solutions across the nation. In doing so, it will help the country to avoid carbon emissions, support local communities, and build a resilient, engaged team.

Environmental Impact

DTEK Renewables is focused on clean energy, building a sustainable portfolio to lead the fight against climate change. The impact is clear: the company has already invested €1.2 billion in sustainable energy solutions such as wind and solar power plants.

The total capacity of the power plants is 1.1 GW, generating over 1 billion kWh in 2024 alone. As a result, over 1.1 million tons of CO₂ emissions were blocked from entering the atmosphere.

Social Responsibility
Community Impact

DTEK Renewables believes that the success of renewable energy projects must be matched by the well-being of the communities in which we operate. The company strives to create long-term, tangible value for residents and regions.

DTEK Renewables operations provide more than clean energy—they create employment opportunities, support local businesses, and grow regional economies.

In addition, DTEK Renewables actively supports grassroots initiatives through direct investment and collaborative programmes with local authorities. The goal is to build stronger, more resilient communities that thrive alongside the energy transition.

Social Responsibility
DTEK Renewables understands that taking care of the community also contributes to environmental impact and business success. The company actively participates in social projects that help develop local communities. DTEK Renewables works closely with the communities where it operates, which allows us to identify and implement key social partnership projects tailored to their needs.
The company regularly invests in social projects such as "Community with your own hands."
In 2019, this mini-grant competition motivated community residents to develop their villages, towns, and cities. Six communities participated in the project, ₴1.5 million was spent. In 2021, seven communities from the Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions participated in the project. 4.9 million UAH was invested in relevant initiatives to make the communities more accessible.
In 2021, 2023, and 2024, the company collaborated with the Shakhtar Social Foundation of Shakhtar Football Club for the "Come on, Let's Play!" sports project. Established in the Berezanka and Koblevo communities in the Mykolaiv region, this initiative helped children join amateur sports clubs. Over 50 boys and girls took part in the project.
In 2022-2023, DTEK Renewables focused all its efforts and resources on supporting communities affected by the war. The company provided essential goods, food, water, and medicine to those in need.
In late 2023, DTEK Renewables renewed its commitment to social partnership by updating programmes and launching a new wave of community-focused initiatives in early 2024. These projects reflect the real needs of local people and aim to improve everyday life across multiple areas, from critical infrastructure to education and healthcare.
DTEK Renewables continues to work closely with local communities to support their development. New social programmes are being shaped for implementation in 2025-2026, with over € 420 thousand (20 million UAH) planned for community initiatives.
Innovation and resilience

DTEK Renewables strives to use different types of renewable energy to decrease CO emissions across the nation. It establishes various power plants to accelerate the energy transition, including the Tyligulska WPP. This is the first wind farm in the world constructed amid war. Established before the full-scale invasion, it is planned to become the largest in the country, boasting a 500 MW capacity.

Despite a pause in construction, DTEK’s dedicated team demonstrated the resilience of electric power distribution plans, returning to complete the 114 MW Phase I of the DTEK Tyligulska Wind Power Plant.
